method, prepared with a simmering pot of soup stock at the dining table, also contains
a variety of East Asian foodstuff(s) and ingredients. While the hot pot is kept

enhance friendship and unite family members or colleagues. Several people sit
around a hot pot, talking and eating. They pick up food in one pot, which
creates an atmosphere that makes people comfortable.
How Hot Pot became original?
Hot Pot was originated in
Mongolia 800-900 years ago. The primary ingredient was meat, and the broth wasn’t
spicy. Hot Pot subsequently spread throughout China, where distinct regional
variations developed and persist to this day.

Our Stories
Soccer Game
The whistle
was blown, they kicked it off. They ran down the side-line. We surrounded them
but they escaped and scored a goal. It was 1 to 0 we went back to the centre.
Our team vs Thunderbolts.
Then we
scored 8 goals, after that we won the game! The next game, they kicked it off.
They went into the side of the field, the opposite member kicked the ball up as
far as he could but I headed it out of the goal, excitedly. It went all the way
to the half of the field, my teammate King Qasim scored a goal!
After that
we went to the center of the field again. Mathew, my other teammate passed to
me and scored a goal and won!

Hot Water Beach by
Aliyah
On the
weekend, my mum, dad, my brothers, my little sisters and I, and my cousin’s
family all went to hot water beach.
When
we got there, we went in the water. Then
we got out and made a big hole in the sand.
When a huge wave came, we quickly sat on the hole to stop the water
carrying away the sand.
We
spent one or two hours there. At the end we finally made a hole with hot water
in it. Marwah, my cousin kept on lying
down in the sand while we were taking a shower in the changing room. I felt
happy for the day.
My First Day at School - Recount
On my first
day at school, my mum took me to The Warehouse and bought me two pairs of Green
Bay shirts. Next mum took me to Green Bay School, I was in Room 28 but I didn’t
make any friends.
At first, I didn’t
make any friends, but after a while I made some friends, it was fun. Then it
was home time, my mum picked me and my brother up and we went to Supermarket. A
few days later, I turned six. I had fun with my friends.

When I
turned 5 three years ago, my mum took me to Green Bay School.
Firstly, mum
took me to the ESOL room because she couldn’t speak English yet. Then Veronica
took me to Room 25 with Jill. Next, Jill asked a Chinese boy called Aubrey to
help me understand. Soon, we became friends. Then in morning tea time, he told
me about Ethan, his friend.
After a
while I heard someone calling me. It was my mum and she was going to pick me up
but I didn’t want to go. Then she went away. After morning tea, it was writing
time. Jill helped me to write my very first sentence. My handwriting was really
bad but that didn’t really matter. Jill was really nice to me.
After that,
it was maths time. I really like my first day at Green Bay School.
On my first day at school I made friends already and my friends showed me everywhere in school and then the bell rang and I thought that there was fire because every bell is for fire alarm. So I ran away and my teacher Kyra said: “Come back.” And I did and then she said: “This isn’t a fire alarm, it is a school bell.” Then I went to my class.
